Coalition of Business Groups Urge City Council to Reject Current Chicago Paid Leave Proposal

A coalition of business groups and small business owners are urging City Council to reject the current Chicago paid leave proposal that would devastate businesses and non-profits of every size and sector across the city. Businesses understand that access to paid time off is crucial for workers and their families which is why we reached agreement earlier this year on the current state-wide law of five days and made repeated efforts to negotiate in good faith to reach a compromise on a paid leave policy that is fair and balanced for both workers and businesses. However, the proposal currently before City Council ignores the concerns of the business community and will instead put in place the most expensive and complicated form of paid leave in the country.

Chicago 2024 DNC Host Committee Seeks Requests for Proposal

PRESENTED BY THE CHICAGOLAND CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

The Chicago 2024 DNC Host Committee (Development Now for Chicago) and the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) today are releasing three Requests for Proposals (RFP) including Event Architect, Event Management, and Exposition Services, for the Democratic National Convention which will be held in Chicago from August 19 to 22, 2024. Questions about the RFP are due by Thursday, November 9th, 2023 at 5:00 PM Central Time. Potential Bidders must notify the Host Committee by email to vendors@chicago2024.com of their intent to submit a proposal by 11:59 PM Central Time Thursday, November 16, 2023. Final proposals must be submitted by Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at 5:00 PM Central Time.
