Business Leaders Urge Flexibility with Allowing Employees to Take Children to School

Chicagoland Chamber business leaders stood together for a press conference at Bank of America with Chicago Board of Education president Rufus Williams to urge parents across the city to bring their children to school on the first day, Tuesday, Sept. 2, and to ask businesses to be flexible with employees taking their children to school.

In a letter to International Olympic Committee President Dr. Jacques Rogge, Chicagoland Chamber Chairman of the Board James Tyree and President & CEO Jerry Roper pledged their “wholehearted support” for Chicago’s bid to host the 2016 Olympic Games. The letter, which will also be included in the Chicago 2016 Bid Book, is a ringing endorsement for the city’s ongoing pursuit of the Olympic Games. - (8/12/2008)
