Meeting Climate and Sustainability Goals: A Collaboration between Government and the Private Sector

As society transitions to clean energy, a significant transformation of the economy will be ushered by a deep partnership between government and private institutions to meet ambitious climate and sustainability goals. Currently, the private sector is on the cutting edge of developing technologies and innovations that will lead the transition to clean energy. And, with the enactment of historic legislation, like the federal Inflation Reduction Act, the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, the Illinois Climate & Equitable Jobs Act (CEJA), and many initiatives being undertaken by the City of Chicago and Cook County, the Chicagoland region stands at an optimal juncture to become a national leader and model in the clean energy transition, while driving future economic and workforce growth. Reaching these ambitious goals will ultimately be determined by the collaboration and open communication between business and government.

Please join the Chicagoland Chamber’s Infrastructure and Digitalization Committee for this critical discussion as we bring together key officials and representatives from the public and private sectors to discuss sustainability and climate resiliency best practices, initiatives, and ways for government and the business community to partner to meet our short and long-term climate and sustainability goals.
