Secretary Randall S. Blankenhorn of the Illinois Department of Transportation, today, met with the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Council on Logistics and Transportation to discuss the state of infrastructure and transportation in Illinois.

 

Blankenhorn discussed the challenges facing the State of Illinois and the opportunities the State needs to take advantage of to ensure a sustainable infusion of funds into infrastructure and transportation investments. The conversation spanned topics such as electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles, priority projects, smart cities, sustainable revenue, and the potential for an airport in Will County.

Chamber members also had the opportunity to discuss Chicago’s transportation system and infrastructure during the Council meeting. The Chamber will continue to monitor potential opportunities to strengthen and grow Illinois as a transportation hub.
