AT&T is providing a $500,000 contribution to the Urban Alliance Foundation Inc. to support expansion of Urban Alliance's services to an additional 127 students, including 74 new job sites for high school internships within UA's existing cities – Washington, D.C., IL, MD and VA.

In connection with this support, the Urban Alliance is seeking ten (10) companies interested in providing internship opportunities and covering a portion of the cost.  AT&T’s contribution will fund half of the cost of an intern and the Urban Alliance is seeking support for the other half at $6,250 per student of the total $12,500 charitable contribution.  The program covers intern work from November 2015 through August 2016 as an Urban Alliance intern.

As respected leaders in the Chicago-area business community, we know you understand that one of our greatest priorities as a nation is the development of our future workforce. Urban Alliance is a non-profit organization committed to helping to meet this challenge by connecting Chicago’s under-served youth with opportunities at area employers.

About the Urban Alliance
Urban Alliance serves over 1,000 youth annually, with the core program being a ten month paid professional internship for 12th grade CPS students. Through this program, high school seniors from some of the most under-resourced neighborhoods in Chicago are given the opportunity to intern at major companies where they build a network and develop critical work experience, all while preparing for post-secondary education with support from Urban Alliance. With a 100% high school rate, a 90% college enrollment rate and an 80% college persistence rate we know Urban Alliance is making a difference. Our vision is to expand to serve every young person in DC, Baltimore, Chicago, and Northern Virginia that could benefit from our program — and we need your help!

This 3-minute video about Urban Alliance (UA) gives a great snapshot of the program, as well as this exciting 3-minute video the Chicago Bulls created about their UA interns. I also encourage you to view this Rolling Stone article where Bulls player, Jimmy Butler, mentioned the program after gifting his 2015 NBA KIA Most Improved Player award to Urban Alliance Chicago, with a photo of Jimmy and a Bulls UA intern posted in the Chicago Tribune.
