Plenary Session: Second City Works presents “The Director’s Chair: Leading Dynamic Ensembles”

As the professional services branch of the iconic Second City theater, we’ve mastered the art of blending improvisation with leadership. Leading a successful team mirrors the direction of a hit improv show, requiring a genuine appreciation for individual strengths, clear and positive communication, and an agile mindset that nurtures a supportive and vibrant team atmosphere. In our interactive workshop, tailor-made for the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce’s Emerging Leaders, participants will dive into exercises that enhance presentation skills, storytelling prowess, rapid problem-solving abilities, and keen listening — the very skills our improvisers use nightly on stage. These are the essentials for forging dynamic teams that not only meet but surpass their collective goals.
