The 2024 Democratic National Convention: Security & Logistics Affecting Businesses
Chicago was recently announced as host city for the Democratic National Convention in 2024. The convention is set to energize Chicago’s economy with jobs and millions of dollars pouring into local businesses while serving as a boon for Chicago’s hotel, restaurant, and hospitality industries, creating thousands of jobs, and providing positive momentum for long-term economic recovery. The arrival of the convention will also bring a few security and logistical challenges that every Chicago business should know.
To help prepare local businesses, the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the United States Secret Service (USSS), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and Chicago Police Department (CPD), will host an informative discussion on what businesses can expect for the upcoming Democratic National Convention. Topics of concern that will be covered include the convention route, street closures, and security details.
