The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce released the following statement regarding Mayor Lightfoot’s 2023 Budget:

As the independent voice of the Chicago business community, we commend the Mayor for focusing on matters of key importance to our city’s fiscal stability like reducing the pension liability, curtailing property tax hikes, and allocating additional funds in critical areas like transit safety and police resources. We must continue to look for ways in which the business community and our counterparts at City Hall can partner to solve both immediate issues like a comprehensive public safety plan and long-term challenges to our city’s overall fiscal stability. The Chicagoland Chamber stands ready to work side by side with the Mayor and City Council to help ensure that both the near-term and long-term needs of our city are met.
