As an electricity provider, trusted by millions, Dynegy is not only providing Chicagoans with reliable and affordable power in 2020, but also innovative renewable energy solutions. From its regional office in Oak Brook, Dynegy is proud to build upon its legacy of meeting the electricity needs of growing Chicagoland communities.

Serving over 600,000 business and residential customers throughout Illinois, Dynegy is a subsidiary of Vistra Energy, the nation’s premier integrated energy company, and the largest competitive residential electricity provider and largest competitive power generator in the U.S.

Dynegy is a trusted energy partner and serves numerous landmark operations throughout Chicago, including the Chicago Cubs and Wrigley Field, Chicago Transit Authority, Metra, Arlington Park Racetrack, and Saint Anthony Hospital, among others. Dynegy is also powering supply chain diversity and economic development efforts across Chicagoland as a key leader and member of the Chicago Minority Supplier Development Council and Women’s Business Development Center.

Vistra is a major investor in renewable energy, including a 300-megawatt battery energy storage project in California, and a 180-megawatt solar plant in Texas, along with significant wind energy purchases and other innovative energy projects. Furthering the company’s commitment to sustainability, Vistra recently announced a carbon reduction plan and is a founding member of the Climate Leadership Council.

In addition to sustainability excellence, the Vistra family of companies is dedicated to providing industry-leading energy solutions, especially in renewables.

“We’re committed to listening to our customers and delivering the plans and products they need to meet their energy and sustainability benchmarks. Whether you’re a residential customer looking for competitive pricing – or a business of any size looking for renewable offerings – we have a best-in-class solution,” said Gabe Castro, Vistra business markets vice president. “We’re proud to invest in Chicagoland and to provide the region with an unmatched selection of innovative plans and solutions to serve the needs of this growing region.”

With a focus on sustainability, Dynegy is planting roots in Chicagoland – literally – by partnering with the Morton Arboretum and Chicago Region Trees Initiative. Through this initiative, the company donated 40 trees last summer to the City of Evanston to help replace those lost due to the Emerald Ash Borer and Dutch Elm Disease.

“As the nation is impacted by COVID-19, Dynegy’s parent company, Vistra Energy, recently announced it’s donating $2 million to non-profits and social service agencies, providing direct relief for people with critical needs resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic in the communities across the 20 states it serves, including the Chicagoland area,” said Brad Watson, Dynegy community affairs senior director. “The company recognizes, aside from the stark health impacts, the COVID-19 outbreak has led to a reduction in income for some and job loss for others, making the most essential purchases, like food and electricity, difficult to afford.”

Dynegy is proud to give back and strengthen Chicagoland communities by investing in area nonprofit partners, including the Greater Chicago Food Depository, Chicago Youth Centers, and the United Way of Metropolitan Chicago, among others.
