On Tuesday, June 30th the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce in partnership with DeVry University hosted the event “OPT Internship Service: Benefits to Employers.” Attendees learned about the process of hiring OPT (optional practical training) international interns and how they can help improve international and multicultural strategies for the organizations they work for.

Piotr Lechowski, Loop Campus President of DeVry University and Keller Graduate School of Management, kicked off the event. Rachel Ross, Manager for International Recruitment for DeVry Education Group, went over the process, steps and advantages of hiring OPT interns.

The main portion of the event was a panel discussion made up of students, professors and employers, including the Chamber’s own student-intern Garbine Martinez and the Chamber’s Director of International Programs Shufen Zhao.
