Understanding the Chicago Civic Landscape

Hosted by the Chicagoland Chamber’s Emerging Leaders Council

Understanding the Chicago Civic Landscape is an interactive professional development experience designed to help emerging leaders better understand how local government works and why civic engagement matters. Participants will hear directly from civic leaders, gain insight into the roles and responsibilities of key government agencies, explore how public decisions impact residents and businesses, and learn practical ways to become more informed and engaged members of their communities. The program is designed to be nonpartisan, educational, and action-oriented, equipping attendees with a stronger understanding of Chicago’s civic infrastructure and tangible tools for participation.

Emerging Leaders Chicago engages and develops the next generation of Chicagoland business leaders. For young professionals, it builds relationships, cultivates skills and talent, and creates an inclusive community of future leaders.
