Neighborhood Economic Development – How to Bring Impact Through Alliance in This Moment

The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Loyola University Chicago’s Baumhart Center and Institute for Racial Justice, invites you to the culminating event of Impact through Alliance: Chicago Neighborhood Business Series on October 23rd at Loyola University Chicago’s Schreiber Center.

Over the past year, this series has spotlighted Englewood, Rogers Park, and Little Village through immersive neighborhood tours led by historian and storyteller Dilla, followed by rich conversations with business owners, community leaders, and researchers. From a call for positive storytelling to lessons on entrepreneurial support and university partnerships, the series has illuminated both the challenges and opportunities shaping neighborhood-based economic development.

At this culminating event—Neighborhood Economic Development: How to Bring Impact Through Alliance in This Moment—we will reflect on these key insights and chart actionable paths forward. The panel will feature Dr. Kristen Broady (Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago), Jaime di Paulo (Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce), and Steven Shaw (Verizon), moderated by Dr. Teresa Gonzales (Loyola University Chicago). Together, they will explore how businesses, policymakers, and communities can build stronger alliances to drive inclusive growth, shift harmful narratives, and ensure Chicago’s neighborhoods thrive.

Join us in this powerful collaboration to celebrate the city’s communities, uplift local businesses, and translate shared lessons into meaningful action for the future of Chicago.
