The Future of the Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA)

The Biometric Information Privacy Act, known as BIPA, is one of the broadest and most restrictive laws in the country limiting the use and collection of biometric data. Since the law was passed in 2008, businesses of all sizes have been targeted and faced legal action for routine employer practices that unknowingly violate BIPA standards. The Chicagoland Chamber has been leading the fight to reform BIPA.

The Illinois House Minority Leader, Jim Durkin, along with featured stakeholders, will discuss the future of BIPA and how revisiting the law can help provide much-needed protection for employers.
