Developing Downtown: Reimagining the LaSalle Street Corridor

In partnership with the Illinois Department of Central Management Services

As the pandemic brought bustling central business districts across the nation to a standstill, many experts questioned the ability of cities to recover from such a shock. Now with Illinois’ reopening efforts underway and the Governor’s announcement that the state plans to sell the James R. Thompson Center (JRTC) located in the heart of the Loop, downtown Chicago is seeing a resurgence of economic opportunity and all eyes are on the LaSalle Street Corridor. Located steps from City Hall, development opportunities like this one don’t come around often and have the potential to transform our central business district.

Hear directly from the Illinois Department of Central Management Services about their request for proposals for the JRTC. Our panel of experts will then weigh in on what a sale of this magnitude means for Chicago and the opportunities it brings to the LaSalle Street Corridor and our business community.
