Condé Nast Traveler readers voted Chicago the Best Big U.S. City in 2024, an honor Chicago has received every year since 2017.
Condé Nast praised our city’s “impressive architecture, first-rate museums, brilliant chefs, and massive brewing scene,” and also pointed out that Chicago is populated by “some of the most pleasant people you’ll find anywhere.”
The award should come as no surprise, said Chamber President and CEO Jack Lavin.
“When you look at everything Chicago offers, it’s clear that we stand right there with the best cities in the world,” Lavin said. “And our business community has played a huge part of this success, because business makes Chicago the global city that it is today. Chicago is the greatest city in which to live, work, play — and call home.”
More than 575,000 votes were cast by Condé Nast Traveler readers in the annual survey, which the magazine has been running for 37 years.
