Chamber intern Ariana Gomez participating in the 2014 Urban Alliance Public Speaking Challenge.

Most college students consider themselves fortunate to have an internship in their junior year. Ariana Gomez began her internship with the Chamber in November of last year as a senior – in high school.

Ariana, who recently graduated from Steinmetz College Prep on the Northwest side of Chicago, came to the Chamber through Urban Alliance Chicago, which was launched in 2012 to encourage under-resourced youths to aspire, work and succeed through paid internships, formal training, and mentorship.

For the duration of her internship, Ariana’s role was key to the Chamber’s success. Her research, preparation for events, and assistance in maintaining relationships with Chamber Board members was invaluable.

The Chamber thanks Board member PNC Bank for sponsoring Ariana’s internship for the past 10 months.
