On Monday, September 12, the Chicagoland Chamber welcomed Secretary Pritzker to Chicago for a roundtable on supply chains, ports, and port stakeholders. Chamber member Todd Menotti, Senior Director of International Corporate Affairs of Tyson Foods hosted the roundtable at their Chicago location. Secretary Pritzker and her staff are holding these roundtables around the country to gain insight and feedback and plan to issue a report later this year.

This meeting was an opportunity for Chamber members to share the opportunities and challenges they face moving goods through Chicago. The group emphasized improving coordination, cooperation, and information sharing to optimize the end-to-end flow of cargo and trade through supply chains, and to improve the industry’s ability to catalyze economic and job growth. The need for infrastructure investment was also highlighted.

The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce is the vehicle for convening the stakeholders to address the myriad of opportunities and challenges presented by a multi-modal, complex, and aging infrastructure system. The Chicagoland Chamber looks forward to continuing to work with Secretary Pritzker and the U.S. Department of Commerce.
