Companies in Chicago will soon have the opportunity to benefit from an ambitious urban development project in Ecuador.

At a luncheon with the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce at the Signature Room last week, Ecuadorian Minister of Urban Development and Housing Diego Aulestia laid out a plan to build thousands of units of affordable housing across Ecuador.

Aulestia would like to secure the help of Chicago businesses in developing and retrofitting hotel and commercial space as well.

“We are trying to attract new technology and superior technology to construct low cost housing, and of course that has to be a business” Aulestia said.
