“The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce applauds Mayor Rahm Emanuel for proposing a 2015 city budget that does not raise the property, sales or gas tax.

The Chamber continues to support the Mayor's efforts to grow the economy and invest in an educated workforce. Investing in city neighborhoods and supporting small business is important for continued economic growth, and the Chamber recognizes and commends Mayor Emanuel for his efforts.

The Chamber remains concerned, however, about the city's fiscal condition and plans for paying pension costs. We will remain focused on a thoughtful evaluation of all city services and the proposed taxes and fees used to pay for them.

The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce looks forward to working with the Mayor and City Council on a fiscal strategy that makes Chicago the most business friendly City in the US.”
