The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce has issued the following statement related to the temporary, six month budget solution that has been agreed to by the Governor and Illinois legislative leaders today:

“At a critical juncture during the last week of the Illinois fiscal year, the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce recognizes the efforts by both sides of the aisle to collaborate on a stopgap budget and a K-12 education funding solution for Illinois residents. The Chicagoland business community knows it is vital that our schools open on time to ensure that all students statewide receive a quality education so that our workforce remains competitive. We appreciate the leadership of the Governor and the legislative leaders to bring some much needed stability to Illinois. Moving forward, we hope leaders in Springfield will work towards a full budget solution for our state, and measures to inject common-sense business reforms that support job creation, generate necessary revenue for the state and put Illinois back on a path to prosperity and growth,” said Theresa E. Mintle, President and CEO, Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce.
