Ice cream and chocolate lovers rejoice: Ghirardelli Chocolate Co. has officially opened the doors to its flagship shop in the Wrigley Building on Michigan Avenue.

Following its grand opening ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, July 22 just outside the iconic building, Ghiradelli staff had hot fudge sundaes and trays of chocolate on hand for everyone in attendance to sample. Chicagoland Chamber COO Jim Gavin participated in the event.

We’re very excited to have Ghirardelli, a member of the Chicagoland Chamber, open its flagship chocolate and ice cream store right here in the Wrigley Building,” said Gavin. “Chicago is renowned for its vibrant food scene, and let’s be honest – Chicagoans love their desserts.”

The chocolate and ice cream shop has brought on more than 100 new employees to run this location, which is its second in Chicago. This flagship store – the largest in the nation – features two levels, a ground-floor patio, an ice cream bar, a special “Chocolatier” chocolate making station, and a chocolate-covered fruit and nut bar.
