On February 11, the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce testified at the Chicago Park District Board of Commissioners in support of locating the Obama Presidential Library in Chicago’s South Side.

“The Obama Presidential Library not only adds cultural value to our world-renowned city, but also a new path for competitiveness and opportunity,” said Elise Houren, Government Relations Manager for the Chamber. “The Chicagoland Chamber has been a powerful catalyst for business throughout the years and recognizes the value the Obama Presidential Library will bring to our city and its residents and visitors.”

Houren testified that the Obama Presidential Library will increase economic development on the South Side, spur job growth, and serve as a major destination for visitors. This would result in new jobs, new visitors, new business, and an impact that extends throughout the city of Chicago.
