Chicago, IL – The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce recognizes Cook County Board President Preckwinkle's determination to craft a responsible Cook County budget.

However, the Chamber stands opposed to President Preckwinkle’s new tax increase proposal that will be yet another financial burden on residents and businesses.

Families and businesses are already struggling to absorb the sales tax increase passed by Cook County just this summer. This new tax increase proposal on cable TV, which is the only affordable entertainment option for some people, will again take money out of their pockets and lower their standard of living. An expanded amusement tax will negatively impact job growth and economic development in Chicagoland.
