On Thursday, October 20th the Chamber kicked off its Council on Logistics and Transportation (COLT). The newly restructured Council is co-chaired by Ray Drake, Vice President State Government Affairs at UPS and Adrian Guerrero, Director Public Affairs at Union Pacific Railroad. The invite-only Council seeks to advocate for a thriving and premiere regional transportation network helping to build a prosperous economy benefiting both private and public entities throughout the Chicagoland region, accomplished by a diverse group of business and community leaders speaking with one unified voice.

Objectives:

  • Support and ignite meaningful infrastructure improvements
  • Proactively engage in the infrastructure interests of the Chicagoland business
community through significant communication and advocacy efforts
  • Bring together elected leaders, the civic and business communities to engage
and work together on transportation issues at a federal, state, and local level
  • Work to improve and optimize the movement of goods and people across Chicagoland
    and the region

The Council welcomed a bi-partisan panel of Congressmen Rodney Davis, Cheri Bustos, and Mike Quigley to our first meeting to discuss the state of infrastructure and transportation.

After a very successful first meeting, we look forward to our next meeting in early 2017.
