New Equal Pay Requirements for Illinois Employers

State law requires private businesses with over 100 Illinois employees to obtain an Equal Pay Registration Certificate (EPRC) by providing certain pay, demographic, and other data to the Illinois Department of Labor. The recent requirement seeks to ensure that businesses comply with state and federal equal pay laws and demonstrate that they are actively seeking to improve wage disparities. Join the Chicagoland Chamber’s panel of employment law attorneys on July 28 as they provide an overview of changes to the Illinois Equal Pay Act and how your business can prepare for the new reporting requirements.

New Illinois Law Says Employers with 5+ Employees Must Offer a Retirement Plan
PRESENTED BY MESIROW

The law, called Illinois Secure Choice Savings Program Act, applies to Illinois employers who have more than five employees and do not currently offer a retirement plan. It requires employers to either create a plan or enroll in the state-run plan. Mesirow and the Chicagoland Chamber have partnered to answer questions and offer an alternative to the state plan.

Chicago’s Home and Business Protection Program

Chicago’s Home and Business Protection Program (HBPP) provides rebates up to certain limits that cover the costs of outdoor security cameras, one year of cloud storage for video footage, outdoor motion sensor lighting, vehicle GPS trackers, and subscription costs. All Chicago residents, as well as businesses, and non-profit organizations are encouraged to take advantage of the program.
