In the moments leading up to the announcement of the 2014 James Tyree Emerging Business Leadership Award winner at the Chamber’s 110th Annual Meeting on June 24, John Roa says he was planning a congratulatory handshake for the winner, not an acceptance speech.
When the time came, however, the Founder and CEO of ÄKTA heard his name called. It was a whirlwind for Roa after that, which included an acceptance speech, multiple interviews and several photo ops, before he was able to sit back and contemplate what had just happened.
