For too long, unpredictability in the assessment process has stymied job growth and economic development in Chicago and across Cook County. We are encouraged by Pat Hynes’ commitment to restoring fairness, transparency, and accountability to the property tax system to support economic growth across the region. Greater predictability and stability will allow businesses to plan, invest, grow, and create jobs, while ensuring a more fair and accurate tax system for residents across Cook County,” said Jack Lavin, President and CEO of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce.
