With talent attraction and management as a top priority among businesses of all sizes, the Chamber has launched a portfolio of talent initiatives to provide our member companies with resources and services to help them meet their workforce needs while making Chicagoland a global hub for talent.
Partnering with Illinois BIS (Business Innovation Services) and with funding from the State of Illinois Department of Commerce & Economic Opportunity (DCEO), the Chicagoland Chamber is providing grants to Illinois-based companies to improve or upgrade the skills of their current workers. Eligible companies may be reimbursed for up to 50% of the training costs.
The Chamber is working with City Colleges of Chicago to launch an Apprenticeship Program targeting middle-market companies. Through funding from DCEO, the Chamber will provide one-to-one matching funds to participating employers to cover 50% of the apprentice’s salary.
In partnership with JPMorgan Chase & Co., the Chicagoland Chamber has launched the Chicago Opportunity Exchange, a web-based talent matching platform that uses ground-breaking AI to create high-quality connections and reduce recruiting bias.
Career Readiness for Students
To support students preparing to enter or re-enter the workforce, the Chamber has partnered with the University of Phoenix and City Colleges of Chicago to host career readiness panels and resume writing bootcamps at campuses across the city.
