From the President’s Desk: Looking Forward – Next Week’s Burnham Award Dinner

On Tuesday, November 3, at our 24th Annual Daniel H. Burnham Award Dinner, Rick Waddell, Chairman and CEO of Northern Trust, will join twenty-three previous Burnham Award honorees whose contributions to our business and civic communities have shaped Chicago into the global city we know today.

This legacy of leadership is how the Chicagoland Chamber leads and lives. Your contribution and participation in events such as the Burnham Dinner enables us to advocate on behalf of the Chicagoland business community every day.

Fabulous Auction Items

In addition to honoring Rick, we have an exceptional lineup of items set to be featured in this year’s Burnham Dinner silent auction – a list that includes: 15 suite tickets to a Cubs game at Wrigley Field next season; Chicago Bulls tickets; and trips to Africa; San Francisco; San Diego; and Universal Studios in Florida.

And here’s the best part – you don’t even have to be in attendance to win. The silent auction will again be conducted via electronic bidding, compliments of Chamber member Gesture. You can use your own to device to bid from anywhere, anytime before the close of the auction on Tuesday night.

Use the following details to get started:

It’s that easy. After you register you will get a welcome text message. Next, there are four ways to bid: by text (text the 3-digit item number and amount to the welcome message you receive – i.e. 101 500 – no dollar signs or decimals are needed), by smartphone, by computer, and by “personal shopper” in person at the event.

All proceeds from the silent auction – and the event –support the Chamber’s operations and programs as well as the workforce development initiatives of the Chamber Foundation.

Whether you’re with us in person or bidding from home or on the go, we truly appreciate your support. Good luck!
