From the President’s Desk: Making the Most of the Opportunity Summit
On November 17th, a group of more than 275 community leaders, business leaders, and professionals in the fields of human resources, talent acquisition, and diversity & inclusion joined us at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois in Chicago at the 1st annual Disability Inclusion Opportunity Summit.
The spectacular view of Lake Michigan from 30th floor of the Blue Cross and Blue Shield building was a fitting backdrop for this historic inaugural event, which was designed to help employers drive performance and gain competitive advantage through the inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace, supply chain as well as the marketplace.
The Chicagoland Business Leadership Network (CBLN), a program that has been re-launched under the auspices of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Foundation, hosted the event in conjunction with ADA 25 Chicago, an initiative of the Chicago Community Trust celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Thank you to our Charter and Sustaining partners, our Signature Summit Sponsor and Host Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Illinois, and especially to the Searle Funds of the Chicago Community Trust for its support of the CBLN this year.
The CBLN will be able to use the momentum generated by the Opportunity Summit to drive more exciting programs and initiatives in 2016. If you are interested in learning more or getting involved with the CBLN, please contact Ann Kisting at firstname.lastname@example.org.
