An interactive panel discussion/presentation of the Chicagoland Business Leadership Network (a program of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Foundation) in conjunction with The Kennedy Forum.

The economic costs of mental illness exceed that of cancer, diabetes and respiratory ailments combined. One in four Americans live with mental illness or addiction, affecting them during prime working years and affecting their ability to fully participate in the workplace and at home. The costs of mental illness are staggeringly high, both directly and indirectly (treatment costs, lost productivity).

Businesses and business leaders play a critical role in eradicating the stigma associated with mental illness, escalating mental health as an essential priority, and developing innovations that will result in timely access to effective intervention, support and recovery.

Join us for an inspiring and practical discussion with national leaders about effective strategies to accommodate individuals with mental illness/addiction, as well as to help create a healthy, stigma-free workplace that improves performance and wellness for all employees.

Moderator: Michael Thompson, the National Business Coalition on Health’s new CEO
