Jobs One!

The Chamber's #1 Priority is Jobs!

Jobs One is a Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce initiative that seeks to infuse all Chamber work and advocacy with a jobs-related focus. The Jobs One initiative is demonstrative of the Chamber’s whole-hearted commitment to a complete regional economic recovery plan. The Chamber knows that without a significant drop in area unemployment rates, a full area economic recovery stands out of reach as businesses will fall short of production potentials and local area governments will fall short of revenue intakes. Private sector job retention and creation is a number one priority and the Chamber is making every effort to make sure all of its work and advocacy serves to help bring back jobs to the regional economy.

The Chamber has already initiated or coordinated numerous efforts aimed at job retention and growth. Through its committees, the Chamber and its members have engaged in positive efforts to address the regional employment problem. In an effort to better present the Chamber’s past and present efforts to create jobs, the Chamber has provided the following summary of those committees’ efforts on this topic.
