The U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes program and Spike TV’s Hire A Vet campaign today launched the Small Business Tournament of Veteran Champions, a competition to identify the most veteran-friendly small business in America.

On April 12, 2011 as part of the White House’s Joining Forces initiative, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce committed to a year-long effort to conduct 100 hiring fairs connecting over 100,000 veterans and military spouses with employers in local communities across the country.
Since the launch of Hiring our Heroes at end of March 2011, the Chamber has conducted 28 hiring fairs and connected over 27,000 veterans and military spouses with over 1500 different employers in 23 states. Close to 2600 of them got jobs.

Legion organizers praised it as among the most productive of recent Legion-sponsored career fairs and credited the U.S. Chamber's participation, through its network of local and regional chambers of commerce, for its success.
July 27, 2011 | "Hiring our Heroes" Chicago Lands Hundreds of Veterans Work
In March of 2011, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce launched its Hiring our Heroes program, a year-long nationwide effort to help veterans and their spouses find meaningful employment. The Chamber started the program in partnership with the Department of Labor Veterans Employment and Training Service (DOL VETS) to improve public-private sector coordination in local communities where veterans and their families are returning every day.
