Chief Human Resources Officer, U.S. Foods

Dave Esler was named Chief Human Resources Officer for U.S. Foods in 2007. In this role, he leads the company’s Human Resources activities to ensure high quality staffing, retention and development of 26,000 employees. He also oversees the Corporate Communications function, which creates programs for informing, motivating and engaging employees to achieve company goals; and manages all aspects of image and reputation through public relations. During his ten-year career at U.S. Foods, Dave has held a number of executive positions at the company including Senior Vice President for Field Human Resources. Prior to joining U.S. Foods, he served in a senior Human Resources role at Grainger Industrial Supply, where he led a team that supported Supply Chain and International Operations. |

Dave holds a master’s degree in Industrial and Labor Relations from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and completed the Human Resource Executive Program at the University of Michigan. He has been designated a Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and is a certified Senior Human Resources Professional (SPHR) by the Society of Human Resource Management. |
