About MetroSouth Medical Center

MetroSouth Medical Center is a full-service medical facility located in Blue Island, approximately 16 miles south of downtown Chicago. MetroSouth provides a comprehensive range of medical services for the Chicago Southland community.

The hospital’s cardiology program is nationally recognized for its advanced cardiac care, including open heart surgery as well as coronary and peripheral stenting, with state-of-the-art catheterization and electrophysiology labs. Other specialty services include Women’s Reproductive and Childbirth Services, Surgical Services, 24-Hour Emergency Services, Rehabilitation, Radiology, Endoscopy Lab, Neurology, Sleep Study Lab, Respiratory Services, Home Care Services, Hospice Care and Physician Referral. MetroSouth Medical Center is the largest employer in Blue Island, with more than 1,300 employees. In April 2011, the hospital completed its conversion to all-private rooms for its 330 licensed beds.
