CHICAGO — Chamber member Brill Street + Company recently announced the 2012 Top 50 Employers for Gen Y Emerging Talent in Chicago, a list that includes several prominent members of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and companies from all industries and of all sizes.

Gen Y, which was defined as employees between 18 and 29 years old for these awards, is better thought of as a new perspective. The Gen Y perspective is purpose-driven, social and tech-savvy. Most importantly, Gen Y is looking for a job which challenges them to grow and an employer who trusts and respects them. Since 2009, Brill Street has been ranking the top employers for Gen Y emerging talent.

With this in mind, the Chicagoland Chamber kicked off its new “Emerging Leaders Group” in January of last year.
