Representatives from the Chicago International Trade Commissioners’ Association (CITCA) joined Chamber members, Chamber staff, and leaders from Chicagoland’s business community on Thursday, December 13 for a networking reception and international wine tasting.
The Chicago International Trade Commissioners’ Association (CITCA) is a volunteer organization with 48 members from 39 different countries around the globe who come together with a common goal – to promote and facilitate the expansion of international trade and business connections between its member countries and the Midwest region.
CITCA’s goals align with the mission of the Chamber’s International Trade Center, which focuses on assisting Illinois small businesses and Chamber members to gain access to global markets and resources that support the growth of their businesses and create jobs.
The event kicked off with a briefing with Consul Generals and the CITCA Trade Commissioners, which featured presentations from Chamber leadership on the Chamber’s current initiatives and future plans. One point of emphasis was the importance of the Chamber’s partnership with CITCA.
“This is exciting in the third year we’ve held this event,” said Ben Wollitz, Chamber Vice President of Member Development and Retention. “Our members are excited to engage with you to drive growth for their companies and help Chicago grow as a global city.”
The briefing was followed by the networking reception and wine tasting, where attendees strengthened existing business ties and built their networks with new relationships.
