Business Lobby Day in Springfield

Members of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce converged in Springfield at the Illinois State Capitol building to lobby members of the Illinois General Assembly on the merits of the Chamber’s positions on key pieces of legislation including workers’ compensation reform, health insurance cooperatives and a land-based casino in Chicago.
The Chamber members, including Mark Segal, Chairman of the Chamber’s Government Relations Committee and President of the Habitat Company, and Kathy Schaeffer of Kathy Schaeffer & Associates, pulled legislators off the House chamber’s floor to deliver the Chicagoland Chamber’s policy positions.
As a result of the efforts at the State House on Business Lobby Day, the Senate Executive Committee moved SB 1349, the business’ workers’ compensation reform legislation to the Senate floor for a vote. For more information on SB 1349 click here.
