The Chamber's Employment Law Forum is presenting a program on how the federal government's immigration policy is impacting your business.

Immigrants make up an important part of the Chicagoland workforce, yet employers need to be careful to comply with the necessary paperwork requirements. As the government continues its push of I-9 enforcement against employers, every Chicagoland employer needs to understand the rules of I-9 verification. In the current enforcement climate, employers need to recognize the warning signs of unauthorized workers and adopt practices to minimize the risk of become a target of a government audit.

The panel of expert Chamber members will talk about what the current I-9 verification rules are and how to avoid violations when making hiring decisions.

Attend this meeting to learn the rules and avoid unnecessary risk of business disruption and legal liability, as well as the current immigration policies being discussed in Congress.

Pre-registration is required due to Aon Center security procedures. Registration closes at Noon on October 29, 2012, space permitting.
