Government regulators are now cracking down on small and medium size businesses on HR issues not fully understood by many business owners. An employee dismissed by your company can turn to a regulator and report your business in the hopes of getting back-pay. This workshop sheds some light on these issues and others including the definition of independent contractor vs. employee, and exempt vs. non-exempt employees. If you recognize that hiring and retaining good employees are key strategies to gain a competitive advantage in the marketplace you should attend this event. Good employees expand your brand, provide outside expertise for growth, and increase the depth of talent in the organization. This workshop presenter also discusses how to developing some consistent hiring and HR practices that will make a difference in both the short and long term.
