Jerry Roper - Illinois Coaltion for Jobs
To be successful you need to be heard. That's why the Chicagoland Chamber serves as the "unified business voice of greater Chicago," aggressively representing your business interests at the city, county, regional and state levels. Here are some of our activities:
  • Government Relations Division - Our Government Relations staff monitors pertinent legislation at the federal, state and local levels and pursues an aggressive, proactive legislative agenda. With member input, they also develop the Chamber's annual Chicagoland Business Agenda.
  • Chicagoland Business Agenda - Published annually, The Agenda articulates the underlying principles that shape Chamber public policy statements and determine our legislative agenda.
  • Legislative Agenda and Emerging Issues - Key legislative initiatives and policies are identified through a series of committee meetings. These serve as the basis for Chamber positions and lobbying activities designed to impact local, regional, state and national levels of government.
  • Committees - Chamber committees develop policy positions in specific subject areas for adoption by the Government Relations Committee and the Chamber Board. In addition, the Chamber's Political Action Committee determines support for pro-business candidates.
  • Chicagoland Chamber Coalitions - We believe collaboration is essential for success and have created several coalitions to advocate for and educate the public on important public policy issues such as transportation, education and the environment.
For more information on the Chamber's Public Policy and Government Relations Division, contact Michael Mini, Director of Government Relations via email or at (312) 494-6787.
