As a valuable service to the local business community, the Chamber certifies documents required in the sale of goods and services to foreign countries. The certification is officially recognized by overseas customs officials, foreign governments and international businesses.
The Chamber provides Document Certification (Secretary signature and Chamber seal) for:
- Certificate of Origin Letters
- Certificates of Business Activity
- Certificates of Conformity
- Certificates of Free Sale
- Certificates of Origin
- Commercial Invoices
- Price Lists
A company representative must sign each document and secure notarization before the Chamber can grant certification. A copy of each document and supporting evidence is required for Chamber records. We cannot certify your documents unless notarized. Notarization is available by appointment only.
Fees
- Member cost is $10 for each document certification up to five copies.
- Non-member cost is $20 for each document certification up to five copies.
- For immediate processing, a $35 fee will be charged for certification.
Procedures
- Obtain and complete all necessary forms and certificates. (See note below.)
- Mail/Deliver to: Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce, 200 E. Randolph Street, Suite 2200, Chicago, IL 60601, Attn: Accounting
- Clients must include a self-addressed stamped envelope before the Chamber can return documents via mail.
- All documents delivered to the Chamber before 9 am will be ready for pick-up after 3 pm the same business day. If delivered after 9 am, the documents will be ready the next day.
- To guarantee immediate processing, clients should call Jill Synoga at (312) 494-6769 at least two hours in advance of delivery.
