Objective
The Workplace Excellence Committee provides actionable information to Chamber members about emerging workplace issues and innovations in workplace practices that can positively impact a company’s performance and profitability.
The committee also leads a number of activities to make sure the region is recognized as having great places to work, including the connection between profitability and innovative people practices. | |

- The award recognizes organizations that improve their competitive advantage through people practices that lead to successful business results. Applications are due Friday, July 23, 2010. Click here to download an application.

- The committee coordinates and promotes the Chicagoland Workplace Excellence Award process, an initiative sponsored, in part, by Chamber member Right Management that recognizes workplace excellence. Companies are evaluated on the development and implementation of people practices that positively impact culture and environment in a company, maximize the engagement and performance of employees, and leads to successful business results.
- The committee promotes the nationwide, annual Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility that recognizes the benefits of adopting flexible work practices, including smart ideas for attracting, engaging and retaining the best available talent.
- The Chamber provides employee consumer education initiatives that inform and benefit workers, such as the federal government’s Earned Income Tax Credit and Money Smart Week programs.
- The Chamber offers members and their employees regular informative forums that highlight employee benefits, training and cultural best practices.
